Special Programming for Doc Clients
Genesis SUD Recovery Centers provide special programming for Department of Corrections offenders who have completed their stay at a Transitional Housing facility and are ready to be discharged. Many of these clients continue to experience Substance Use Disorders at the time of their discharge. Transferring them to a Genesis SUD Recovery Centers facility for a stay of between 30 and 45 days will enable them to receive clinical and medical services (including medications and establishing connection with physicians in the community) to overcome their SUDs and achieve recovery.
In order to sustain recovery, we provide DOC clients assistance in securing employment and housing. Research shows that both are critical to long-term success in overcoming substance use disorders.
Why It Matters
Without these supports, individuals face increased challenges, including the risk of homelessness, unemployment, and relapse.
- Employment provides structure, purpose, and financial independence—key factors in preventing relapse and promoting self-worth.
- Housing offers safety and stability, reducing stress and the risk of returning to substance use
Our Commitment to DOC Clients
